Ma-jor!

What's Jack up to? Enjoying his Saturday with a full house of folks to play with.

Confession time. Not this this will come as a shock to anyone who knows me and probably even those who don't. I'm a pretty simple girl. I adore things like: realty TV, fried shrimp and chips, romantic comedies and a cold glass of White Zin. That's me. A simple girl with a dream.

I also always really liked The Spice Girls. Scary was the spice for me and I still love her, even more actually, after Dancing With The Stars and making it through the whole Eddie Murphy fiasco. Ugh. Can you say, "baby papi drama?" As Christian would say, It was a big "Tranny" mess.

But the surprising Spice to grow on me, sort of like, cumin, is Ms. Posh aka Victoria Beckham.

Now, I liked Ms. Vic well enough, even with her scowling and the fact that she's been known to hike the boobs way way up there sometimes. And I always thought her husband was a real cutie and admired the way she coordinated him perfectly with her stilettos and her Birkins. Come on. Wouldn't you.

But she really won me over last year when she did an NBC reality special. During the special she had a meeting with Blogger/Gossiper Perez Hilton, who had been kinda trashing her. She decided to meet with him face to face which I thought was brave. Victoria stole my heart when Perez asked her if there was anyone in Hollywood that she didn't like and she looked his straight on and said, Eddie Murpy! Yes. Way to stick up for your girlfriend. Girl Power!
I actually watched the special twice, I enjoyed it so much. Now, I'm happy to find out that Victoria will be doing a show for Fox. Yippee!

Right now I'm reading Victoria's kitchy, but useful book, That Extra Half an Inch: Hair,
Heels and Everything In Between
. In the book she gives important fashion and style advice like. "it's worth spending more on your accessories as you'll use them more than most of your clothes," or "don't buy anything too small for your figure. If you don't like the size cut it out. " Perfect.

It's a fun read. Major!

best,
Kwana

oh i need to find that book in stores!!! that would be so interesting to read. i do agree w posh on spending more money on accessories... we wouldn't wear the same blouse everyday but we carry the same bag (well most of us anyway). i hope that lady at my favorite boutique knows about that too since she chastised me one day for just purchasing clothing on sale instead of full price! i dont need a $300 shirt when i can get it 75% off right?

Oh MommytheRobot you are a woman after my own heart! I am a total bargain hunter when it comes to clothes, but it's wise to spend on a good bag or shoes. Clothes come and go, but a realy fine bag is forever. To prove it my mom still has some great bags from when I was a teen.
Go for the 75% off when it's a trendy dress or top.

I haven't had a chance to drop by lately, and when I do wouldn't you know it you have a great post. Lately I seem to be liking Mrs. Beckham more and more. Even sans smile she's intriguing. And Eddie Murphy, well I think VB said it all. Great post. I'll look up the book.

i never thought i'd like her, but on the project runway finale, i found i had a bit of an affection for miss vb. and you know i trust your opinions, kwana, so maybe i'll give her another look.

I really like Mel B - loved her on DWTS and was pulling for her to win. But I can't really see the Posh thing. I think in all the pics and interviews etc with her - I've only see her smile once. And with Becks as a hubbie - I think I'd be smiling all the time!!! I mean does she keep that scowly look on her face during *cough* intimate moments?
Maybe I might change my minds if she were to seem to loosen up somewhat

Hi Jamie. Thanks for stopping back. Give the book a flip. It's fun and does show a bit of her soft side.

Hey, Melissa. VB is a tough one but I noticed during the NBC show that she really does make fun of herself and I like that. Give her a try.

Hi Kristie, I think the whole scowling thing is an act. Like I said, I noticed her making fun of herself during the NBC show and I liked that. And yes with Becks I'd be smiling too but maybe not with all those women throwing their knickers a him all the time.

Kwana you really did shock me. The Spice Girls!!! I really thought I knew you. I think I will take your advice next time I see and accessory that is not on sale. This now will give me a reason to justify a full retail purchase.

I don't know ... I don't have anything against VB. It's not like I know her personally. But I tend to be drawn to people who are more smiling creatures. And as for Eddie, believe it or not, I'm not up on my celebrity "news" so without Googling it, I have no idea what the tift was about, but I happen to know someone who owes a great deal to that man. Of course, I believe in sticking up for your friends and I'm glad to see that VB does, even in public. :)

See, David, I'm not alone.

She sure does, Patricia. Imagine heels sinking into the grass.

Eileen, I like to keep people guessing! Ha.

Hey, Wendy thanks for commenting! I'm sure Eddie can be nice as all get out and has probeply done great things. He actually has a notorious past though with the(ahem) ladies? We'll talk sometime. Like I said. If all those women where thorwing their knickers at my hubby I may be like VB and not smiling either or walking around sticking my tongue out at them!
