Happy Monday! This this is the last Monday of my 39th year. On Thursday I'll be 40. Oh joy. Not.
Now I know plenty of you sweethearts out there will say all sorts of sweetheart things and I'll love you for it as I grimace on the inside and try and hold down all the swirling discontent in my stomach. Thoughts of times gone by, dreams not yet met, bodies changing (or not), what will be and what never will.
Oh, I know I'm being I big 'ol hot mess and I'm sure I'll handle 50 a lot better than I'm handling 40. But I think this week the blog will be full of music (much better than my words) and on Thursday I hope some laughs. Today's song speaks better for me than I can.
Best,
Kwana
Have a Cozy Weekend.

Sorry about the foreboding, but happy early 40th still! I hope it is like 30, where (in my case) the dread leading up to the event was such that the actual day was anticlimactically fun and relaxing.
Until then, "Landslide" is a excellent musical accompaniment.
Happy early 40th! I turned 40 almost 2 years ago ... and it really wasn't that horrible.
BTW ... "Landslide" is one of the greatest songs ever.
XOXOXOXOXOXO
I'll be 40 in September and I've been thinking about it since I turned 39! I hope there isn't as much emotional drama with other birthdays :) Happy week to you Kwana xoxo
Girl, I turned 40 in March and seriously, get ready to fall apart. I'm joking, but although I feel young my body never lets me forget my true age.
The good thing now is when I tell people my age they are always so shocked. What the heck is 40 suppose to look like now a days? I feel like such a cougar now!! hee-hee!!
Happy early birthday. Please believe that every year you live to celebrate another birthday is nothing short of a true blessing. Be blessed mama and try to enjoy!!
I think brooding like a teenager is the BEST way to prepare yourself for 40...well, that's part of my plan anyway.
Landslide is a great song for a moody Monday...I'm looking forward to the progression of your musical selection as the days near. (Hugs)
Embrace 40 it's 41,42,43... and so on that gets hard! I've decided to stay forever 40. Which reminds me I better book my coloring walking around with all this gray makes it hard to believe I'm 40 and not say 43ish.Love your song selection. HAppy Birthday week!
I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the coming landslide. This will be your best year ever!
pve
I had more trouble turning 40 then I did 30 but to be honest with you it hasn't been bad. It's just a number - but I do know how you're feeling.
Remember-just like a fine wine, you're getting better with age.
I think turning forty is wonderful! I truly found that people began to take me more seriously, and that I really and truly appreciated myself! You will love forty. I promise!
You're entitled to be a "big 'ol hot mess." It IS your birthday. :-)
Wishing you an early "Happy Birthday." I won't be around Thursday for the grant moment.
Be one with the birthday.
Love the Fleetwood Mac song.
Kwana, let me tell you something most women don't even know. At 40, women are luscious. No kidding. You too. I was. I had no idea. Wish I'd exploited it a bit more now, but really, you are at one of your peak periods.
Happy early birthday.
Girl, you make 40 look fabulous.
I know Joan and I will have an extra special toast to you, Kwana, on Champagne Thursday! Ah... 40 is nothing girlfriend.... I am 3 years away from 60!!!!! Now that is a sober thought!! xoxo
I knew you'd all bring the sweetness. Thanks so much. Love the word 'luscious', Janet. I'll hold on to that one.
