What's Jack up to? The DD is home and Jack could not be happier because now he has someone to spar with. He's happy to constantly chase behind her growl and nip at her heels. For some reason with her he is like a true sibling. It's very strange.
Look at what finally arrived on my porch yesterday. I go for a drive to the city to pick up the DD and when I get home my long awaited books from San Francisco are on my porch. I almost crashed into the mailbox I was was thrilled. Inside were all the lovely books I stood in line for at the publisher hosted signings at RWA. So totally worth it eh? It's like Christmas in August. A romance lovers paradise. I am one happy girl right now.
Hey, It's all research to be a better writer. Nora said so!
best,

Dude, you totally scored. I came home with very few books. But then I was in a different mindset this conference. More about my own headspace, less about the shwag.
You completely scored! Holy crap!!! I can't believe you got three boxes of books. I got like six. Books that is. Good for you! I know what you'll be doing. = )
My BookExpo box had 50 books in it. I took the books I collected on the show floor back to our booth and asked the staff closing up the booth to send them back to me. They said I sent back more than the Wiley booth had left at the end of the show. :-)
Here's to book lust!
I sent home four large FedX boxes full of books from SF. And that was being "good!" Two years ago, I shipped home about 95, so I felt good about this year. I made sure I only picked up books that I was confident I'd read, and not go crazy picking up every free book imaginable. Now, I just need to get through the 300+ books I still have in my TBR pile from the last 4 years of conferences and I can start reading this year's bunch. LOL!
I did score Kristen and Marley. I'm so excited about them.
Ellen it sounds like you did really good at your you conference too. What a good haul! Cheers!
Single City Chick, Four boxes!!! Wow!! You go. I can't top you.
WOW! Score! I'm always too lazy to arrange shipping, and I never bring a suitcase big enough--besides, who wants to pay the over-weight fee? I came home with only the books I could stuff in my computer bag. In happier news, I'm really enjoying the freebie by Connie Brockway that we got at lunch!
I'm sending all the (very few) free books I picked up to my sister. I haven't read a book for simple pleasure in waaaay too long. Hmm, maybe my beach vacation is the place to start...
Man, they were giving away Marian Keye's book? I'm so bummed that I missed that one. Can I borrow it when you are done?
I wish I could have gone, love freebees, but then international shipping costs would have killed me.
Randy, the shippig at the hotel this year was a breeze and they were so nice. I think it's beacuse women were running it:)
Louisa, I will be reading these for at least the next year and I know my friends and neighbors will be raiding my bookshelf. You have to do a read for pleasure on your next vacation.
Elizabeth the Marian Keys book was in the Goody room. Sure you can borrow when I'm done.
I'm so sorry you missed out Natalie and about the international shipping fees.
Ohh...nice. I filled an old conference bag and lugged that home. Actually, there was way too much paranormal and dark stuff this year. Or at least the signings I went to. I am enjoying the Kristan Hannah book. (Not the RITA winner, but a new one.) And I loved the Connie Brockway book. Read that awhile ago
wow! lucky you!
Oh, Kristen I got tons of Historical which I just love! I was zeroing in on it. I'm a happy girl.
I am lucky Mommy the Robot!
Now, what'ya gonna do with all those books?
I guess I know where to find a good book.....
what are friends for?
Wow, how wonderful!!! Happy Reading!! :-)
I want to be you so bad right now!
Thanks PVE. BG and PBW. I know you all wish you were me right now! LOL!
