Pins and Needles

What's Jack up to? Jack is being Jack just amped up a notch with the kids on high level with it being the end of the school year. So he's extra snappy since they are snapping at him. All this is making for a snippy snappy house. Eeeee.

I have to say like Jack I'm a little on pins a needles. Trying to get used to it being the end of the school year and still on worry alert as I wait to see how the school year will end. This has the mind racing with plans for the summer and how that will all wash out. Which then brings me into the Fall. Yep, that's me. Summer hasn't started and I'm already into the Fall.

I really must work on living in the moment but I've never been a particularly good at that. I'm always five steps ahead in my mind with all the scenarios that go with it.

I admire those that don't do this. Those that can turn a problem over in their mind ponder it then let it go even if it's not resolved or can't be. I know there is a secret to peace somewhere in there. But you have to be able to do it authentically and until then... I'll be on pins and needles.

Best,
Kwana

Hey, you're thinking about fall and I'm knitting Christmas presents, so I'm a whole other season ahead of you!! It is way too hot here to live in the moment at the moment. Perhaps at the weekend!

Part of living in the moment is allowing ourself to stop and listen. Slow down, enjoy the "cushion" of Summer. I do love planning ahead on projects though. I love that picture. It really makes me want to sew...

Living in the moment is very challenging. We all seem to be thinking one step ahead within the chatter of our minds. It takes a concerted effort to stop, really stop, and think of the moment, breathe, and think of the moment.
I think it must take a lifetime to perfect this kind of thing. We run so fast in our lives. Slowing down helps our minds to slow down abit. And whenever I do it, if feels good!

A beautiful piece of art to be on pins and needles.

It has taken some training and hard knocks on my part to be in the moment, but once the moment is over I'm on to the next. lol...

Enjoy my friend and hugs to snappy Jack. xoxo

Snippy snappy house. What a great word picture!

I live in the moment which means I'm not wired to plan ahead. My approach to life is spontaneous. I admire the planners out there, who always have an eye to the future. As I've gotten older, I've taught myself to plan. As they say, a failure to plan is a plan to fail.

Oh how rich the diversity of people, personalities, and plans that help to fill this world with wonder!

Well, in my neck of the woods, summer's been here for about 2 months. Fall? What's that?

Ah, fall, how I love you (especially when we're on a heat alert here for the third day in a row!). I used to always be worrying about things ahead, but (warning! Cliche ahead) I started meditating and it changed my life. :) I do still get ahead of myself, but not nearly as bad as I used to. :)

Maybe I'll go to the craft store today. I heard they're putting out Christmas stuff already--maybe it will help me feel colder...

Oh Muh Gawd! That dog is SO CUTE!!

FWIW I'm discovering the older I get the more OCD I get. I'm a planner, a fretter and a worrier who ALWAYS has to have a contingency plan *sigh*
I like to think I'm getting better at it but it seems to be it seems to be "Plan plan plan" or "Aw screw it" and no plan at all :( I struggle for that happy medium.

BTW School starts back here in 8 weeks and I can't wait!! The kids are TOTALLY disrupting my writing time!!!

I'm with you - I'm terrible at not living my life as a series of checklist items too. Best of luck with the snippy snappy Jack & slowing things down.

Love that etching, by the way.

Kwana - Oh yes! Please do stop by for a cup of coffee, or tea - anytime! You are always welcome!

I am a planner and have been working on living in the moment. I've gotten to the point where as long as I've written it down and done some planning I can leave it go until time comes closer.

We need to take time to smell the flowers as they say. We only get so many times around the sun so let's enjoy them.

Have a great day.

Maybe you and I could swap some of our brains, because I live way too much IN the moment, forgetting to plan ahead. I could use some forethought, specifically for budgetary issues.

Kwana, I do this, as well! I'm waaay too invested in what's happening in the future (or dwelling on something from the past) and not nearly grounded enough in the moment. I've pretty much always been that way. But, other than constant self-reminders to "pay attention to my breath," is there anything we can do about it? (Clearly, I have no answers. :)
