This is Marc Chagall's Birthday done in 1915. I have it in a postcard stuck in my bedroom mirror among others. The colors are heavenly and perfectly balanced. The kiss and the present of a simple bouquet is divine. This seems to be the perfect welcome home from any mate. But what I love most here is the way the man is stretching, seeking, bending towards his wife. Yep, literally bending over backwards to get to her. Isn't love grand?
Best,
Kwana

It is beautiful.
So very sweet.
I need to train my husband to give me that kind of backward bending, neck wringing....oh wait... never mind ;)
The man must be flexible! Always!!
Lovely day kwanna~

Love it, beautiful card !
Very cool, Kwana. Thanks for sharing with us!!
I love the way you see into art.
That side of my brain must be dead. I just look at the picture and decide if I like it or not. Don't usually give it much thought, maybe I will now.....
I totally love Chagall! In my book ART OF SENSUALITY, I actually talk about one of his paintings: 'Three Candles'.
I knew we had good taste. LOL
My parents just celebrated 61 years of marriage, lots of giving and taking turns to get that far! I think Marc must have known or been in a relationship where he was willing to "stretch" and to bend for her. It is indeed a marvelous welcome kiss, stunning composition and the colors are wonderful.
Mr. Chagall has always been one of my favorites, have you seen the Chagall windows at Pocantico Hills?
His paintings are known as "the color of love!"
Art is a creative gift. He seems to be bending over backwards to please her.
Happy Twirls
I love that painting!
Beautiful image Kwana!
Yes, nothing more beautiful than someone seeking, reaching for another's companionship and love. Even more beautiful...the recipient of the seeking and reacher who acknowledges and reciprocates the efforts of the devoted companion.
Looks very beautiful.
