Awkward Family Photo

What’s Jack up to? I really am thinking that Jack thinks that he’s human. This weekend he was a snooty McSnooter with our other neighbor dog Mr. Bean. Giving him the cold shoulder like sweet Arya, but happy to say hello to Mr. Beans pretty owner. Oh well. That’s my snooty dog.

This weekend I braved the family tradition of the corny Sears holiday portrait session. Yep, after last year’s hot mess I put on my big girl mommy panties, gave all sorts of evil eyes, bought matching black tops (yep, I'm that woman. Thought I'd up the torture this year) and took the DH and dear teen twins to Sears once again for the awkward photo session. Here are a few choice lines from the night:

“Do you know how much I hate this?”

“This is the worst”

“I’m so starving.”

“He’s so stupid.”

"Loser."

“You know we’re the oldest ones here.”

“Um, Dad can you sit up straight.”

“Chin down”

“Sorry, you blinked on that one.”

"Brother, sister, um, just a little closer please?”

"Please."

“Hey mom, did you know you have a lot of grey hairs now?”

“Oh crap!”

Oh! Mom how could you! Heehee it's our job to torture the teens as long as you can. I'm sure it will be awesome.

I must show you my vintage family photo from when I was a little girl! I wonder of your twins will carry on the tradition of the family photo after they leave the nest?

So funny! I bet these will be the very memories that will be the fondest when they have families of their own. Thanks again Kwana.

Oh you crack me up! I have that photo of us in the black shirts and jeans and the brother and sister looking as if they wish they were anywhere else. It's priceless!

That awkward family photo website is hilarious!

We couldn't seem to get a trip to the photographer to fit in the schedule. My sister was visiting over the weekend so we did a quick family photo at home. Didn't turn out too bad, my only question is, "who's the mom with the fluffy face?"

I think dragging the family to the portrait session is more torture than fun AND you have to pay for it too!! I decided to skip this "fun" this year. Every year I would do a family Christmas card featuring me, Husband, 3 dogs (photos taken by the fabulous David Jensen Photography (on the side of my blog)... but...... the Hubs made it as much fun as having a root canal.

Hmmm... I think gray hairs remark just bought them a 2010 photo sitting.

Oh man! You mean they stop liking it once they are teenagers? Wimpy Kid is right, maybe those awkward teenage years should be skipped.

That is so funny ! Now that the bad photos get deleted, they're prized and exotic.

I hope you guys had a yummy meal out after that ordeal.

So sorry but Jack didn't get in the picture. I don't think they let dogs in Sears.

I'm not sure if I'll post here. Don't know if the dear teens will like that but we'll see.

And yes, the gray hair comment does warrant another session next year!
