Good Bye Holidays

What's Jack up to? Poor Jack is so not feeling this cold weather. I'm with him. This bitter cold is just makes me want to hibernate.

A while back a wrote about how my Nana and her neighbors went all out and decorated their apartment hallways for the holidays, proving you don't need a house to get into the holiday spirit in New York City.

With this weekend being the official end to the holiday season I thought I'd share these pics that I snapped with my cell camera the other day when I was visiting. Check out the totally wild hallway decorated by my aunt and her neighbor directly across the hall.

The funny thing is if you are a centimeter over 5 feet 8 inches you have to duck to walk through the tinsel. All the kids love it.

It's back to the real world come Monday. Are we ready? I think I might be.

Best,
Kwana

I feel the happy spirit of the holiday just looking at their happy hallway! They must all get along very well! Wonder what they will do for Valentine's Day!!

As much as I love decorating, the taking down is a D-R-A-G. Would be nice to have the help of the neighbors. The stuff really needs to go back in the boxes until next year though... Happy New Year, and here comes 2009... January 20th can't come soon enough :)

That looks like a lot of fun!

While I'll miss the holiday season, I'm really glad 2009 is here. I've got tons of plans and can't wait to get started on them!

I loved the wild enthusiasm that this pictures conveyed. The ladies sound like quite the pair! As for the holidays, YES, PLEASE let them be over! This year has been such a nail-biter and in just 17 short days we will be witnessing a nation-changing (dare I say a world-changing?) event in our capital of Washington DC. It makes me want to get started on this new year, take a page from our President-Elect and make some changes in my own life. Get organized, get motivated, and embrace the feeling of optimism that has been missing for oh, about 8 years. I was a child of the Kennedy era. I was 14 at the first Earth Day. I was at an anti-war (Vietnam) "sit in" and I remember the rush of enthusiasm and determination and the can-do attitude of that era. I am confident that it is back and yes, I can't wait to get on the bus!

Happy New Year, K and to your family one and all. (P.S. - Does Jack like little baby carrots? My guys do. They seem to think they're great treats.)

I would glide right under those without a care. Shorty me.

I'm glad you all liked the wild hallway. It's so much fun and great to see how the neighbors get together.

Lise, Jack has not tried carrots. I'll have to see. Thanks. And yes, we need to be optimistic.
