MLK Monday

I hope everyone had a good weekend and are enjoying the Martin Luther King Holiday today, spending time with your family, thinking of what you can do for your fellow man and reflecting on the values of Dr. King. This holiday is especially special with what will take place tomorrow with the swearing in of our 44th president, Barack Obama, his victory made possible by the efforts of the great MLK.

Of course the world does not change overnight but I’m feeling so hopeful and proud of the very significant change that will take place tomorrow. A New Day is coming. How will you welcome it? Me? I will with a grateful heart.

Best,
Kwana

I am in awe of all the events and happenings on tv and how elegant the entire Obama family look- I also am moved by the people gathered to witness history.

Today I'm going into work so the other gal can be home with her children. As for my heart is warm and filled with emotions. I'm glad I will be home tomorrow to be enjoying the day of watching all from our TV.

I've got tomorrow off, and I'll be planted in front of the TV, with a box of tissues, here in The Middle of Nowhere. If only my grandparents were here to see it!

I've been getting choked up all weekend. We had a local "inauguration breakfast" in my town with about 300 people and it was great to see so many people that I worked with on the campaign. And we're here in a place they never thought would go blue. Then watching the whistle stop train tour and the hope on the faces of those who braved the cold. Last night I watched the concert online. Just amazing. Then flipped over to a documentary of Dr. King and couldn't help crying more. It's certainly an epic moment. Certainly we're not "there" yet, but maybe we've crested the mountain and can at least see the destination.

Hey, Glad I could help. I just found a t shirt with Michelle's face on it. It says first diva. That would be a weekend shirt though (lol)...I have my DVR ready for everything tomorrow. I know I will be spending all kinds of money on pictures from tomorrow.
