Good Night Out

The other night was my book/drinks/mom's night out night. The group is pretty much our knitting group, but on the road and at night.

And it was a gorgeous night as we gathered for drinks and food at, Half Moon, a restaurant on the Hudson with a great view of the river where you can see clear down to Manhattan on a good night.

So sorry for the blurry pic. The waiter had shaky hands.
A lot of you will recognize PVE in the center there.

As we discussed the book The Virgins Lover (which got a good review) then went on to family and other topics of night I got to thinking about how our group was about so much more than books or knitting, but about friendship and camaraderie in a way that was different from our immediate family. We talked and laughed well into the night and as table after table left, we just ordered refills on our coffee and kept the chatting going. Thanks for a fun night out Knisters!

For those of you playing the at home game our next book is Julie & Julia so it will be book and movie talk next month. Yay!

Do you have a little group that you meet up with for crafts or book talk?

Best,
Kwana

I like that blurry photo - 'blur' is in right now you know :) So nice to see you have such a great group to be a part of.

I liked The Virgin's Lover and loved Julie & Julia!

I have a book club that meets monthly too and always look forward to it. (no knitting though - my husband is the only member of our household who can knit)

Your group looks very congenial and like you would be so much fun to be with and chat about books and whatever. I attend a monthly library book group, it meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 3 PM. Very easy to remember. We are off for the summer tho. I used to belong to another book group but could not keep up and I also felt like reading independently. The library book group has picked really good books so I stick with them.

Looks like a great evening. I am now back with two cooking groups-it's wonderful-filling up on friendship, and special dishes lovingly prepared.

You must see my post today. There is power in the circle of friends, and our group adds so much spark to my life. I am forever thankful for this wonderful group. Full of love, kindness, (sometimes tough love) which adds up to a vital circle in my life.
Thanks Ladies for a fun evening. (& to Kwana for documenting this!) I vote for you as "Secretary!"

Thanks for all the comments. I love hearing about your book clubs.

Day, it's great that your hubby knits.

Debra, a cooking group sounds like a blast.

Patricia, what a fun time I was happy to do the post. I love doing them. No way I can be secretary though. I'm no where near as organized as Sue. She is on it! I'll just be the bloggger.

Hi...
You don’t know me but I’m Liz's sister. Liz writes Mabel's House. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog. It's so fun to look at and read and it's very New York, which I love!
So thank you for the entertainment:) I appreciate it!

I had a great book club in NY, but can't seem to drum up much interest for one here in Ohio.

Will be very interested to hear how you like Julie & Julia! May I suggest reading Julia Child's memoir, My Life in France, as a companion? There's nothing like Julia's story in her own voice!

Jax my like is not so exciting. All smoke and mirrors darling.

Louisa thanks for the Julia recommendation. You're so right.

Pamela I can't wait to see it.
