Do you Kindle? Would you Kindle?
I never thought I would really be a Kindle girl, I mean you can’t very well take it in the bath, but on Saturday at my RWA meeting I got to touch feel and read on one up close and I fell in love. It’s so sleek, light weight and cool and it kind of feels very bookish. Also the thought that I can have so many books with me all the time right at my fingertips kinda makes me giddy.
Amazon is putting the new Kindle 2 on sale February 24th. (should have been available for V-day). It’s even slimmer and can hold so many more books and even has a read aloud feature. Very dangerous. I’m putting the Kindle 2 on my extended wish list. Of course I still need to get through my Nationals books. A girl has to have tub reading!

looks like my kind of kindred spirit.
I just don't think I could do it. I'm in love with the feel and the smell of a book...be it old or spanking new. I love to hear that little crack when I open it...love the way the pages feel when I turn them. I even love the weight of a heavy book in my hands, or propped on my knees in bed. I cannot argue the convenience factor of the Kindle, but I must have my big fat books with me! There's always one in my purse!
I'm starting to get swayed. Also, I hear you can put your Kindle in a large zip lock bag and make it bath-proof.
I love the feel of paper, of turning pages, even dog-earing them (yes, I know, I should be whipped). I don't think a Kindle is for me, but I'm old enough to know NEVER say never.
I'm in the same place with Kindle as I was when vinyl went CD and *clutches chest* CD went MP3. I'm just a real tangible, collector kinda (read: old) gal.
I'm sure I'll end up with one though-the husband is a technophile.
I'm with a lot of you with the book feel and the paper. I can never fully give up book I love them too much and Maria I some times dog-ear them too! Sooo bad but good. I even love the smell of a new book. But the idea of so many book in one place on the run is so appealing to me. Hmmm...
I've been debating about whether to get one. One of Abbott's classmates' father is the VP at Amazon who oversees the project. We shall see.
I also love everything about the feel of a real book in my hand.
But I just don't like my Kindle, I LOVE IT! I can't put it down. I take it everywhere.
Everyone I know who has one loves it. I haven't made the plunge yet myself. I'll be anxious to see if you end up liking it!
I love this Kindle debate. This really makes me want one. PBW I'm so happy to hear that you love yours.
I puffy heart books. The pages...the smell...the ink. I don't think I could do it!
