Too Desperate

What's Jack up to? He's finally on his way to the groomer for a much needed haircut. Let's hope he's looking a lot better when I see him again and they don't call me early to pick up my problem dog. I have to say I'm a little nervous about this new place we're trying. They seem a little over the top with calling the dogs "kids" and all. What up with that? Wierd-o's or just me?

Thanks so much to all of you who checked out Megan's interview yesterday. If you missed it please check it out. Megan is awesome!

Today I was going to get all philosophical and talk about A New Earth. I'm still on the New Earth wagon and liking it although I'm behind, but I'm enjoying all this study of the ego and getting over it stuff. It's interesting. A good thought I got from the download of the chapter 2 discussion was, "what you react to in another you strengthen in yourself." Hmm... Let's just think about that a bit shall we?

Now the total opposite of suppressing the ego was last night's Not So Real Housewives of NYC. It was EGO to the MAX! Alex, Simon, Ramona the whole thing was a mess. Talk about desperation and dying for acceptance. It was just S-A-D. Then the mad hatter dinner party with Simon as the creepy party crasher? Crazy.
And the Topper of the Night for me was LuAnn pulling rank and not wanting to be introduced to "the help" by her first name and comparing "the help" to children. UGH. Just when I didn't think it could get any worse. It did. Eek. Next week is the season Finale. Awww.... so soon?

Best,

Kwana

Bravo, you so need us to show you some REAL
housewives at the Bus Stop, the grocery, walking the dog, doing laundry, etc.

Everything I've heard about this New Earth book makes me glad I'm not reading it. It just sounds kind of...over the top new age. Granted, I haven't read any of it, but that's the impression I get.

Did you watch Hell's Kitchen? Why isn't that show two hours long? Chef Ramsay rocks! lol

I have just listened to one segment of the New Earth - some I get and some well - a process - take what you like and leave the rest works for me - the group talk works for me too although my gang has only met once to discuss - so much to do. I loved the part about stillness and focusing on a flower.

I didn't watch the Real Housewives yet, but I did DVR it. LuAnn is such a snobby, you-know-what!!! She's the type who is probably a racist too!!! Wow, next week is the finale already??? What did they have, 4 episodes?? LOL!

As for The New Earth, I am still stuck in the beginning. I might just give up on it or wait until I began my travels this summer and read it while I'm waiting in airports for hours.

New Earth! I love it.. It is seriously life changing and it has helped me.. Thanks for turning me on to it, Kwana. Did you see DWTS?

Yes, Patricia they should totally have Real, Real housewives but I guess we'd be boring.

Kristen, A New Earth is not as out there as I first thought. It does having a calming effect after you get past the strange language. And it has some good ideas for dealing with people and yourself.

Love crazy Hell's kitchen! I know Chef Ramsey was going to do what he did last night. I just knew it!

Yes mommythe robot. I agree. LuAnn is must be on something and Ramona needs it.

I also agree with Brown Girl that LuAnn is awful. I won't go all out and say racist but surely classist! Give New Earth a try and you'll just laugh at these ladies or pity them.

Hi Marnie, I like the webcasts on Oprah.com better than the book. I get more from them. I agree its a take and use what you can thing.

Yes, Melissa they are looong. It takes 3 days to watch 1 which is why I'm only up to chapter 3.

Hey Keri. So glad you're getting a lot out of A New Earth. Yay! Share more with the class. I did watch DWTS. Sorry for Adam. He was funny but had to go. Pricilla next week?

I've not read "New Earth," but years ago I purchased "The Power of Now" by the same author. Very enlightening, so I can only imagine how his new book reads. :-)

Housewives is like a train wreck - I can't help but watch it but its a terrible tradegy.

The woman from Bklyn annoys me the most as she is clearly a wannabe and its just sad!
