What's Jack up to? He's happy it's the weekend and just chilling while sporting his cool new haircut. I'll have him pose for some pics as soon as I can get him still.
I'm still thinking about my Changes post from a few days ago and would love to keep it going. If you'd like to read the original post please check it out here. The comments really got me thinking on life and how it evolves. So I'm posting the question again and for a little fun putting up some videos that were on and poppin' in 1988 when they still showed video on MTV. These are all songs I loved at that time.
I still want to hear your answers to the the Changes question. Please join my little writing exercise. Here it is:
How similar is your life to how you imagined it ten or twenty years ago? Is it how you thought it would be or are you constantly asking yourself how did I get here? Do you mourn for the unfulfilled dreams? (Pioneer Woman said unrealized plans) or are you happy no matter what the circumstances? Oh Life!
Have a great weekend. I'll be doing the baseball thang (how much can one woman drive?) and hanging with the DD while she tries to convince me that Lil Wayne is a real hottie and compare him somehow to my Prince. Honey Pla-ease!
Best,
Kwana
Have a Cozy Weekend.

Let me first say how blessed and grateful I am. Ten years ago I was only 18-years-old and full of hopes and dreams. I had just graduated from high school and eager to start college that upcoming fall to study journalism. I had always had a passion for fashion, beauty, music, entertainment. So. it was always my dream to move to NYC and work at a magazine.
Fast-forward 10 years. I live in NYC and working at a prominent magazine. Plus, my blog allows me to live my dreams on a daily basis. I never thought that things would truly work out the way that they have, but I am just so happy to be where I am right now.
I am married, but always thought that by now I would have at least 1 child. Although I really want children, I think I'm just afraid. Maybe I will soon fulfill that dream of becoming a mother. Like you said...oh life!!
Great post and videos!!!
Thanks so much for chiming in BG!
Oh, man. Not fair, Kwana! How cruel to make me examine all the shoulda coulda wouldas on such a nice Friday morning. :) Okay, here's a few off the top of my head.
Twenty years ago I would not have expected to be living in the same condo, working at the same job, going to the same night spots...STILL SINGLE.
On the other hand, I believe we shape our own lives, so all the above didn't happen by accident. Plus, I suppose in a way, the fact that my life is virtually unchanged from then to now is a good thing...? Maybe?? Anyway, I feel it's by design rather than happenstance, which makes me feel comfortable with my choices.
As for dreams unfulfilled--well, of course, there are some. I'm still unpublished, but this year I'll see my name next to a short story in an anthology that will be in bookstores come September, so it's a start. And last year, I received the first of many checks for short stories I've started writing for the confession magazines. It's all about baby steps in the writing biz, I guess. On the other dream front--travel--I can report positives and negatives. Still haven't been to Paris, but I got to take my parents to the "homeland" (Norway) in an unforgettable adventure.
All in all, I can't complain about how it all unfolded from 1988 to now.
Thanks for stepping up Randy. You're so right baby steps and you've taken some great ones!
