I'm Smitten

What's Jack up to? Jack has been busy wandering around sneaking up to the kids room every chance he gets to see what trouble he can get into. Unfortunately with the Dear Twins messy rooms. It's usually a lot.

Wow! I had so much fun reading the comments from yesterday's Whats Your Number post. It was so interesting. Very telling to me about how secure some of us are in our weight and it clearly depends on where you are in your relationship with your weight. We'll have to do more of that type of polling here.

I'm happy to announce that the winner of the Barnes and Noble Gift card for making a comment on my interview over at Romance Writers on The Journey was Hope! We did the drawing at knitting the other day. The winning name was pulled by the lovely PVE. And, Yep, I resisted all those sweets. Notice Jack's no sneaking gate in the corner.

Now, I'm sure it's no secret here, but I am positively smitten with Michelle Obama. Cut to me with the silly school girl grin each time she shows up at some high powered Washington function looking like the coolest cucumber in the room.

I'll be picking up this week's People magazine for sure. I have to say although I was/am no fan of Mr. Bush, surprise, surprise, I always liked Mrs. Bush and admired her class and grace. Hey there's no accounting for who you fall in Love with.

But in Michelle I see an every woman, some of me, some of my friends and it just makes me smile. Such a modern woman, perfect for this time.

Best,

Kwana

Congratulations to Hope. Your knitting groups looks like a great way to spend a morning- catching up and sharing laughs and giggles.
I am really looking forward to watching this fabulous family grow in the White House- I'll be picking up a copy of people too!
Have a great weekend!

I love Michelle, too! I love how when people asked their friends in Chicago is they ever thought Barack would become president, they always say, "Actually, we thought Michelle would."

Although I wish she'd exercised a little more prerogative about the White House Chef. They could've really made an impact there by appointing someone into organic, sustainable, local food.

Congrats to Hope!

You girls really party with your knitting group! Looks like a lot of goodies on the table and circled with friends. Good for passing on the sweets.

The People's magazine came yesterday, but I had friends over so haven't really looked at it. I did look at the cover. Michelle is beautiful!!

Oh what fun we have dropping stitches and allowing our selves time to come together and share our roses and thorns. Wonder if Mr.Obama knows Michelle's wieght? You really ought to write to her and tell her how you really feel.

I notice that I am always checking out what Mrs. O is wearing, and I always like it!!! I too was no fan of W (ironically--he and I have the same birthday) but I thought Mrs. Laura Bush was a very classy lady and kept her poise. Have a great weekend Kwana and Commenters!

Smitten is one of my favorite words! And yes Mrs. O has me wrapped around her little pinkie, as does Mr. O.

Congratulations to Hope! How perfectly named...tying in to an Obama post and all. :-)

I still can't look at the First Lady without getting all misty. Did you see her official White House portrait earlier today (yesterday, I guess, at this point)? FABULOUS! My man was at a conference yesterday...interesting for him to eavesdrop on the (male) uber conservative view of Michelle. Yowza.

Yay Hope!

I am a fan of Mrs. O as well. I finally made it through my Vogue Mag with her on the cover. (Read while I watched/listened to her hubby on PBS.) I can relate to your school girl grin. When I was done reading the article I hugged the magazine.

Laura, I did see the official portrait. Loved it. Those arms! Fantastic.

Patrica, I may have to write something sometime. Must fine the words.

Deidra, I loved the article. I would have hugged my copy if I wasn't reading it in the tub. My only wish was that there were more pictures.
