Keep it Simple- Share the Love

What’s Jack up to? Jack had fun barking his head off at the utility workers outside our house trimming trees for quite a while yesterday. It was a big treat for the Alpha Dog.

So Valentine’s Day is falling on Saturday this year. It’s been a long time since that happened. I’m sure it will be impossible to step a toe into just about any restaurant in town without a month old reservation. And really do I want to deal with the crowds? I don’t know.

The idea of a Saturday Valentine’s day seems like a little more pressure than the usual weekday Valentine of flowers delivered and a quiet evening meal. Although I may say I want the dining and dancing of a fab evening, in the end I’m a simple girl that enjoys a quiet tucked away dinner and a movie. That's me, always the cheap date.

Now if I was being whisked off to some exotic locale for the weekend, believe me I would not complain about that either...

I guess it doesn't really matter what you do as long as there is genuine love shared there somewhere (and good food doesn't hurt).

So what are your weekend Valentine’s plans?

Best,
Kwana

I totally agree simple is best and share the love. I will probably make my daughter and husband favorite meal. I love the picture of Jack he is a doll.

I am terrified of dogs, but yours is so cute I want to hug it...

We're staying in and cracking the seal on season six of MI-5. I love me some British espionage!

Saturday is also Hotrod's birthday, so we're celebrating with a big family bowling trip and lunch. Today, however, he and I are doing the couples thing and hitting a matinee.

I have a feeling we'll end up cooking together and maybe watching a movie. I might push for It Happened One Night, or some other classic romance...

Hi Kwana, this comment is about the couple of posts.... I am not yet sure about the Kindle... I wonder about its battery life...

Love the photo of Jack, what a cutie!! HEZAQT! :)

Although it is the day before VD...have not yet given it much thought... isn't that sad? My car is going to the shop for a recall issue, and I have my library book group and have NOT read the book... Happy Val. Day to y'all!! xxoo

Jack and I thank you Frau!

Oh MI-5 sounds perfect PBW. Makes me want to get a video. Maybe season 3 of THE TUDORS.

Kristen please give Hotrod a Happy Birthday hug from me!

That sounds perfect Louisa.

Ina I think it has a really long battery life. The longest out.
Jack says thanks! And I know that feeling on the book. Good luck:)

I am with you- I enjoy the simply things. My love always says I'm an cheap date. LOL...

I have the dough mixed for scones in the morning. For tomorrow night I am in charge of the desserts so strawberries are dipped, and soon the champagne will be chilled. The meal is G's department.

Oops I still need to make Kelly her treats yet. Yes she gets to celebrate in the love too.

I love the pic of Jack with his bandana!

Happy Valentine's Day and a golden weekend! xoxo

I'm actually abandoning my husband tomorrow to drive down to visit my mother who celebrated her 75th birthday this week. Then we're driving down to Miami together for my cousin's baby shower. Think My Big Fat Cuban Baby Shower!

I'm visiting family so I'll be missing out on my Valentine's with Mr. Right. It's okay because every day is full of romance for us... :) Besides, he promised me something extra special when I return.

BTW, I love Jack's pic.

Well, one thing I know about Jack...he makes a mean Valentine's day card. ;-)

I had such a nice day today, and what a pleasure to meet you!! I went home, fetched the dog, and headed to the shore house. We're having a BBQ tomorrow...what better way to hold out hope for warmer weather!?...and having a handful of friends over. I wish I had that PVE soup to serve. Yum!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Maria Happy Birthday to your Mom!

Thanks Joyce, Anna, Jax and PVE!
