Let There Be Light.... please.

Hello Tuesday. Thanks to all of you for your kind comments on Jack’s Obamicon yesterday. I hope you all had a nice President’s Day holiday.

I got to spend a few hours alone with the DH while the Dear Teen Twins went their own ways. Sadly, it was not bliss, as on Saturday night, in the “now what else can go wrong?” category, our electricity went out in the kitchen and dining room. No, I don’t know why there is an ancient plug upstairs in the DD’s room that controls my kitchen's power. Ask them.
No, the electrician does not work on Sunday or a holiday. And no, I do not want to pay extra for an emergency worker that I don’t know and who does not know my old 1940's house.

And Yes, all I thought when I first saw it was "aww pretty," smart huh?

Cut to me on Sunday throwing out bags and bags of now spoiled food. Sigh. And No, I didn’t remember there was a carton of Chocolate ice cream back there in the freezer. Eww.
Today, I hope Mr. Electric comes by and doesn’t break the bank or a wall. All this in time for vacation week with the kids. Grrrr… way to keep it stress free.

In another funny but really not so funny moment, cut to me again, in the neurologist office as she tells me how I'll feel so much better and less stressed if I got in more exercise. It works for her getting it done at 5am before her children are up. Yeah, like turning over works for me at that hour. Where do these pod people come from?

In the “keeping it light” category. Remember way back when how I was going to try and stay positive? Snort. The new Vogue comes out today with First Lady Michelle Obama. I can’t wait to get a look see! I know she will at least look calmer and way more put together than I feel today. Love her style.

Best,
Kwana

I hope you get your lights back! Our reverse-osmosis water spigot stopped working too. What is it with that kind of stuff happening on holidays?

Isn't that the way??? If it's going to go wrong it happens on the weekend- and a holiday to boot. Hope all is well and plugged-in as I write. Sending positive 'energy' your way.

Surely Vogue will brighten your day!

Thanks Kristen. I don't know what a reverse-osmosis water spigot is but it sounds so important. Ugh. I hope all is well at your house.

Thanks Debra I'm still waiting for Me. Electric.

Thanks Deidra. I'm still looking for the Vogue too.

I hope you had candles to light!
Things like this make one wonder what colonial times were like. No heat, no lights...I know when the lights come back on you will be so thankful! So much is resting on Vogue to be a bright light while so many other magazine lights are extinguished. Smart move to put Michelle Obama on the cover!

Yikes! Hope you get your electricity back. Earlier this month we were in Kentucky for both ice and wind storms that knocked out power. It sucked!

Looking forward to that Vogue!!!!

OK I know, I know... I shouldn't be laughing, but you gave me this vision of your day/s!!
Kwana I fell in lOVE with your home too by the look of the Patricia's illustration! I love that you have so... many stairs too, to your front door. We have I think 14-17. How many do you have?
I too hope the light man doesn't break the bank too.
I always try finding the silver linning in a not so pinky day- the one here is at least the chocolate ice cream melted and you didn't have to eat it.
Have a golden one my friend! xoxo

Don't you just LOVE it when people suggest that you get up EXTRA-early to do something you absolutely detest (re: exercise)?!? I'm with you Kwama, I do some of my best rolling over at 5:00 am. That's considered exercise, right??

Hope you get your 'tricity back today.

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Confession: I am one of those Pod People who are at the gym at 5 am. Have always been an early riser....

Electricity is back and it's so nice to be able to use my kitchen.

Joyce I love my stairs I have a total is 16. 14 in the middle. Sadly, they are crumbling and need to be rebuilt.

Ina you are a Pod person! I still adore you.

I've been out of town, so hopefully by now you've got your electricity back by now or you're toast (or, not really...hard to toast without the electic and all ;-).

And I'm with you on the pod people (HA!!). I'm lucky I can open my eyes at that hour much less tie the shoelaces on my sneakers. Jeez.

How did you like the spread in Vogue...I was less than impressed. Not nearly enough photos!

Thanks Laura. I so have my lights back. I guess it was a blessing in disguise.

Hi Diva Style. I loved the article but did wish there were more photos too.
