Grey Gardens

One night, a long while back, pretty late if I remember correctly, I was up flipping channels and came across the documentary Grey Gardens on the Sundance Channel. I was immediately mesmerized. I tried and tried to nudge the DH awake to no avail. These woman could not be real but they were so real, so true and so scarily off the edge that they were maybe too close to it. Right at that point where I felt I could reach out and pull them back in or they could reach out and let me tumble off the cliff with them and dance in the air on the way down.

I'm looking forward to the HBO premier on April 18th.

But I think nothing will compare to the real woman. How can it? So much said in every word. Every look.

Best,
Kwana

Kwana, you have my attention. I was watched the videos and was drawn in.

I must have my head in the sand. I haven't heard about this before. Was it a movie playing and now on dvd? Interesting and sad to me. What I can see they are fine living like this, right?

Thanks my friend and a golden one to you. xoxo

They were unique. The documentary always left me feeling a bit sad, and creeped out. Such a theatrical pair. Did you see the Broadway show?? I am looking forward to the HBO special, too. Drew looks amazingly like the real thing!

I hope to see the documentary some day. I have been fascinated with these ladies and their bizarre story for years ... and that they were related to Jackie O and lived in a house falling down all around them. Finally got to Jersey!! xoxo

Thanks for the comments. The women are so fascinating. Yep, Bedbugs!

It would be fun to watch together Patricia.

Joyce the documentary is originally from 1975 and you can get it in dvd. They are mother daughter relatives of Jackie O that ended up living a sad shut in life in the Hamptons. Truly fascinating.

Ondo lady, Yes this is the one about Jackie O's family.

Pamela, I didn't get to see the Broadway show wished I had.

Anita thanks for your kind words on my interview. I will visit your blog. Good luck with you writing.

Ina I'm so happy you finally made it to NJ! I hope your mother is doing well.

I'm scared that if I tune in I'll be obsessed with it.

I just watched SEVEN POUNDS the other night and it really was an emotional and memorable piece that made you think. You should watch it. Just make sure you have a Kleenex box handy.
