The Two Sock Moment

What's Jack up to? As I write this he's asleep on his blanket atop the couch as I listen to the rain continue to fall. It's been some day.

Those of you that have been with me for a long long time will remember my One Sock Moment post. I got lots of really nice comments and I liked that post (if I may say so myself) about not giving up and perseverance or maybe chucking it all. You can check it out here. Since that post life and the Gemini in me took over and the second sock seemed to take forever to get knitted with stress, family, dishes, writing and lets face it, The Not So Real Housewives getting in the way of finishing the other sock. Not to mention my Christmas knitting. But finally the One Sock Moment is over and just in time for Spring too. I now have a nice pair of 100% wool socks to wear for the upcoming warm days. Aren't they pretty?

But really there is only one thing that can beat the feeling of getting over the hurdle of the One Sock Moment and that is the accomplishment of the Two Sock Moment.

I have to remember this feeling and bring more of it into my sometimes (excuse the word but it fits) half @ssed life.
How about you? What projects are just waiting for you to get back to them and polish them off. Bringing a sense of finality and accomplishment to your heart. I can quickly tick a few more off in my own life.

best,
Kwana

After a few days of feeling worthless and lazy (definitely "one sock"), I finally got off my butt and got some crap done after work.

I don't know if I've actually finished that second sock, but I think I'm on my way. It looks like you are too - congrats.

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Congrats! Now both of your feet can cozy up together! :) Good job. I have a lot of proverbial one socks...

Love your two socks!! Great colors. Today I accomplished a goal - I bought a nice pillow top mattress for our guest room (lucky guests). It is sooo cozy. Another project completed was all the dog poop got removed from the yard that had been covered with snow. I get out every day, but sometimes the snow wins. Next project: clean out the closets and donate! And look for new deck chairs, and think about summer flowers. xoxo

"Round of applause" - two socks for your two feet!
Just the other day, a young girl showed me her hat and sweater and now she is learning to knit lace...and it made me remember the excitement at that age of learning a new skill and then the reward of finishing a project. There is nothing greater than the act of creating and then finishing, only to start something new. I hope soon, you will be in the predicament of having one book published and the other in the works. Sort of like a one sock, two sock moment!

Cozy, warm socks! It's cool and rainy here right now. A good day to curl up with warm socks, a good book and a cup of something warm...

Cool! And very pretty. I learned how to knit scarves when I was a lot younger, but that's as far as it got. I loved doing it, but haven't knitted in years. I'm glad you are more ambitious than me :)

I love them, I knitted a pair of mittens in the same multi colors and yes what a feeling when I got both done.

I also love to cross stitch but I haven't taken time out for that in a long time.

When my son was in middle school, I started a quilt for him, to give to him when he graduated from High School. He will graduate from college (!) in October and I have yet to finish that quilt. Maybe he'll get it when he gets married...

Alas, I am not crafty, and so will never know the joy of finishing a knitting or stitching project! I'll just have to live vicariously through you.

Oh Kwana, I love the socks! As you saw by my post yesterday I have a drawing to be finished. I have a tile to paint. The poor woman I bet will never tell another "no hurry", because this project has been pushed back so many times. I don't really like leaving unfinished projects, but some times one or two slip by. Enjoy! xoxo

Next time I see you, you're showing me how to knit. That is so cool. I don't know if I'd have the patience to knit, though. Congrats on the accomplishment!

Right now it's two WIPS rusting on my hardrive. One that deserves an ending. The other that deserves to be fleshed out.

Nothing is more frustrating than when you lose your mojo. Or the task seems soooo huge that just the thought of handling it paralyzes.

But, first need to finish the WIP I'm on.

Vicious circle.

Thanks for the sweet comments on my socks and the encouragement to jump over the next hurdle.

If I can just get this teetering stack of filing done in my office I shall be happy. It's sitting on a red damask chair and totally ruining the vibe of the room. Sigh.
