Vex Therapy

Yesterday was particularly vexing starting with stress and ending with a migraine. But I refuse to completely buckle under life's woes. Honestly, I don't have that luxury. I mean who really has room for a fainting couch anyway?

So I decided to end the day by popping old faithful, Pride and Prejudice into the DVD player. A little Jane Austen with lovely Colin Firth is always good for the soul.
But check out this wonderful tribute video that out found dedicated to Mr. Collins played so well by David Bamber one of the best characters evah!

How do you deal when things get vexing?

Best,
Kwana

I hope you're doing better today! I usually make it known when I get vexed. Which isn't that often. Thankfully.

Oh, Kwana! Sorry to hear about your bad day. I cracked up over "but where would I put a fainting couch, anyway?" Love it.

When I have a vexing day, the thing that makes me feel best is to escape up to bed early and prop myself up against the pillows with a good book and tall beverage (the beverage varies, depending on how bad the day was, ha, ha. ...). Something about being in my pajamas "early" makes me feel pampered, almost childlike, and of course the good book becomes total escape!

Kwana you dont like Kelly! What..I cant see why people dont like her..I found her entertaining and real...it was funny to me that Luanne didnt want to share what was going on in her marriage, and that was ok..but when kelly didnt want to share what her relationship was with max, that was not ok..double standard to me..when she started jogging in the middle of the street, I was like..yea, i like her..she has guts!

Beautiful background music in that video. When vexed I will take a walk or read or have a glass of wine or call a friend and have lunch and talk it out.

On the topic of vexatious behavior: Watched the rest of the Reunion of the RHNYC, which I had taped-- OH MY!!! What a riot. They were mostly not very lady-like. I am originally from Jersey but I do not remember NYC women being that crazy. I thought Alex kept her cool throughout, tho. But I disagree that she and Simon are "relationship role models"... Oh well...

Laughter is the best medicine or losing oneself in creating, be it writing, reading, painting, cooking, gardening, dancing or a walk with a friend.
I am often vexed when my husband wants to know about the next meal, when we are just finishing the last morsel of our lunch. Perhaps - planning and having things to look forward help to make one less vexed. Look out, look ahead, plan it up! :)

Kwana,

I hope you're feeling better today. I think Mr. Darcy is a great cure for what ails ya. :)

I eat way too many Cheez-Its, avoid exercising, and then feel guilt that I'm unhealthy.

Hmm. Perhaps I need to go back to spot-watching P&P? Like you, I don't have time for a fainting couch. But I do HAVE a couch parked conveniently in front of my TV, and it's not a sin to use it...

"I am terribly, terribly vexed!" Ah, how I adore this "P&P" version, the dread Mr. Collins included. "Vex therapy" (ha!) indeed.

When I'm in serious need of my fainting couch, I retreat to my books or a favorite old movie like this. There is usually a glass of wine involved as well.

Nothing better than the Colin Firth version of P&P!
