Did I Really Need To Know This?

What's Jack up to? Just look. Is this dog spoiled or what? Ugh with the DH I can't do a thing with him.

Check this out Audible.com now has a feature where you can download audio book right to your Crackberry. Did I really need to know this? Not really. You know how crazy I am for my books and my Crackberry, so to combine the two. Yowza! Mindblowing.

I'm such a book head but lately with all my editing and my family stuff I've been having the hardest time getting through a book. Even falling asleep in the bath during my beloved reading time late at night. It's so frustrating.

I have been enjoying The Lace Reader, my book club book, on audio though. My library has the coolest my thing. This great little audio pod called Playaway that contains one book that you can grab and go. So cute and handy. I just grab it on my way out the door with Jack for our walks. You supply your own headphones.

So how do you fit in your reading time?

Best,
Kwana

Lately I haven't been fitting it in at all-and I miss it! I love lounging and reading in bed before sleep-which comes all to fast! Then I have to go back the next night and reread, then I fall asleep...you get the picture!

One hundred is the magic number for me to read.
Although I am far from my goal, it is like a diet, always there in the back of my head, rather than reach for something to eat, I grab a book. Sounds crazy, but it is working! Excuse me while I go eat my words. :)

I'm like you Debra. It's so frustrating.

Good luck Patricia you know that's just about 2 books a weeks. Wow! It would be pamphlets for me. LOL.

I'm reading Broken for You...a wonderful book. I just told my husband last night that it is taking me so long to get through it, though. Just not able to find enough time in one sitting. Before I know it, it's 10:00 pm and time for bed!

I can't imagine trying to read a whole book on a screen as small as a blackberry's! Not that I've been reading much of anything lately...

I hear you Deidra.

Kristen this audible thing is listening with earphones. Not reading. I understand about the small screen.

It's getting harder and harder, the more writing and research time I need. I'm tending to walk more than run on my treadmill, just to get in some of that reading time. Used to read for an hour in bed, always, now I fall asleep after a few minutes. Maybe this summer!

Aren't Playaways great? We've had quite a bit of success with them where I work. They seem to be attracting those folks who like to listen as they workout, clean, sew etc. Also, they're great for our less technically savvy patrons who aren't quite ready to take the downloadable/MP3-player plunge.

Uh-oh - an Audible app? I hope there isn't (is) one of the iPhone as well.

Speaking of, Audible is one of the primary ways I get my reading done. I have a long commute, so I tackle a lot of reading during my drive. I also read a little every night before I fall asleep.

Stinger and I just made a pact last night to stop watching so much TV in favor of reading at least an hour before going to sleep. Also, I usually wake up before he does and have a good hour to read while I drink my coffee and deal with the dogs.

I'm hoping to fit some in while we're on the plane next week. I miss having reading time. I download books to my iPhone and can grab a few snippets of time here and there (but not as much as I'd like!)

lol Most people would slap me but I'll tell you...I read while I put on my makeup b4 work, while driving (I'm really good at it), on my lunch break, driving home and at the gym on the bike! lol I'm obsessed!

I really liked the Lace Reader. What an interesting tale and I would recommend it to others.

My reading time lately has been hijacked by reading all of the blogs. I need to get disciplined about getting back to my books. I have a pile and it has not gotten any smaller.

I like your library's book pod. That would make my walks much more fun!!!

I crossed over to the dark side (audiobooks) a few months ago and it was one of my better decisions. I can now work on art whilst "reading". Finding the time for both was really a challenge, so I'm glad I found that balance. That, and as a writer, hearing a book puts a different spin on things. I'm not the only narrator anymore.

I love this idea of the little books from the library that you simply snap your earphones into! I'll have to see if mine has those. I also have a library in walkable distance, which I just love.

I read every night before bed. At least an hour. (Unless I'm reeeeeally tired, which does happen sometimes!)
